Hello, welcome. The primary purpose of this site is to distribute copies of Art, Intellectual Property and the Knowledge Economy (AIPKE) to anyone who may find it interesting or useful.
This site was created in 2005 due to a large number of requests for hard copies of all, or a part, of the text. The version of the doctoral thesis available for download here is identical to that submitted for examination in 2002 and passed without correction in 2003.
AIPKE approaches questions of law and economics from the perspective of the visual arts, an area I was very much involved with in the 1990s. For the last few years I have been working on a book of new material. Visions in Copyright: The Political Economy of Composition will be published by Ashgate in 2014. The new work reflects more current interests in philosophy, rhetoric and history and is addressed to a specialized readership in law and critical legal studies. However, some visitors to this site may also find it interesting. If so, I hope you will order it from your local library.
Further information on Visions will be posted in due course.
